Our first meeting took place in Latvia’s capital Riga from Sunday 5 March 2017 to Saturday 11 March 2017.
Latvian students kept a video diary from Monday 6 to Friday 10:
The very first morning the Latvian students from Rīgas 41. Vidusskola organised an opening ceremony for the Erasmus+ meeting and they introduced us to their culture with different performances.
The students then worked everyday on specific topics regarding migration: they put the finishing touches to their migration maps and family trees for the exhibition, they made their own national costumes and designed posters to promote them, they voted for the logo of the project… They also attended several conferences about migration in Europe and the impact of technology and Big Data on people’s movements.
They all did a great job and enjoyed working together as a European team.
That week in Riga was also the opportunity to discover a few Latvian places:
Latvijas Nacionālā Bibliotēka – The National Library of Latvia
The students also played “Old Riga’s code”, a game that allowed them to learn about the history of the city while answering questions and solving riddles.
The next day they visited Latvijas Etnogrāfiskais brīvdabas muzejs – the Latvian Ethnographic Open Air Museum – which promotes traditional Latvian culture and lifestyle.
They even attended a folk concert performed by Grodi:
Let’s finish with a diary made by the Danish team which recaps the activities the students took part in during the week and the places they had the chance to visit:
